Never one to miss a chance to go to WaterWorld and use his unlimited
pass, when Austin discovered that our friends were going, he had to go
too.
The group out for a day of fun. Austin, Tatiana's daughter
Kate, Sabrina's daughter Marina, Sabrina, Sabrina's youngest daughter,
our family friend Tatiana, and her daughter Jessica. |
 |
After a hard day working at the flower shop, Jordan
brought some extra flowers for Tatiana.
In appreciation, Tatiana gave Jordan a big hug and from the
expression on his face, Jordan liked it! |
 |
Beau and Tatiana's daughter Jessica in a quiet
moment. It is a good thing my camera only requires 1/60th of a
second for a photo because that is just about how long Jessica can stay
still.
Tatiana is from St. Petersburg and married Beau about five years
ago. She has been a great help in my understanding of Russian
culture and is a good friend. |

Rachel, Daniella, & Hillary visit Austin and me. After I
made a large breakfast of French toast, bacon, peaches, and Eggs
Victoria, we visited the Denio Market about a half hour drive away in
Roseville. The market is over 50 years old and covers over 35
hectares. Hillary is a veterinarian professor at a nearby
university. Of great interest to Jordan, who wants to be a
vet. Hillary is British-American. |
 |
The market is very similar to Russian markets.
Denio's has around 1,200 independent vendors with all kinds of products.
This photo is in the produce section. Almost all produce
vendors today are Russian émigrés. 10 years ago they were nearly
all Mexican.
Denio's is only open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Unlike in
Russia, few Americans use such markets. |
