Dad's trip to Boston for the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS) convention was the perfect excuse for Jordan, Austin, and Glenn to have an east coast vacation.

Starting at home in Sacramento, our neighbors Mark and Maria donated one of their limos and a driver to drop us off at the airport.  We be styl'n!

Since Southwest's idea of a three course meal is one package of peanuts and two of pretzels, we packed up a bag with Hickory Farms beef log, cheese, crackers, and lots of candy bars.  Add to that Jordan's CD player and we were set.

Flights on Southwest were much more reasonable to Providence, Rhode Island, so that was the first stop.  After a night of R&R and renting a car, we were off to Plymouth to see the famous rock.

On the way to Plymouth we stopped off at the New Bedford warship museum, Battleship Cove.  Totally cool US and Soviet ships and subs.

A really fun place with real battleships, a submarine, and even a Soviet Corvette shown on the right.

A Huey was on display

You could climb all over the ships, including into the torpedo room.

At the helm of the Soviet ship.

Boys with their big guns.

After all the fun on the ships, we continued on to Plymouth

Okay, it's a rock that has 1620 carved in it.  Apparently is has some sort of magnetism for coins.

We had much more fun behind the rock looking for crabs.  We saw a huge horseshoe crab that was a bit camera shy.

It may only be a replica, but the Mayflower is still afloat at Plymouth.

It's amazing how such a small boat could make it across the Atlantic with all those puritans on board.

Okay, so now we've seen the rock.  What's next?  Lobster at a nearby fish shack.  At 1-1/2 pounds each, the three of us couldn't eat it all.  On the way back to the hotel we happened upon a nifty thrift shop.  Austin found a New England Patriots sweatshirt and Jordan found a pocket watch with a hunting scene on the cover.   The hotel had a huge swimming pool with a replica of the Mayflower that was a water slide.
